Something For Everyone: Camp Odyssey Specialty Camps
You never know what you can accomplish until you try. Odyssey Specialty Camps let kids, teens, and adults explore their interests in-depth in a relaxed, fun and safe environment. Programs are led by qualified professionals who teach in small groups and provide ample individual attention. Choose from a full array of programs that include art, exploration, water fun, music, food, performances, and more!
*Please note that all programs list age requirements by grade - this refers to the grade your child will be entering in the Fall of 2008. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about age requirements.

Eco-Aqua
A week of water fun! Campers will go fishing, spend time at the beach, visit water parks, and go canoeing! This week is led by qualified veteran camp leaders and promises to be a wetacular good time!

Camp Odyssey Beach Camp
This travel camp provides campers one last opportunity to soak up the fun and sun of summer before August ends and school starts! Trips planned include visits to both Ocean City and Assateague, beach attractions such as the Boardwalk and Mini-Golf, beach scavenger hunts, and more!

Camp Eagle-Odyssey (offered with Green Gate Farms)
Continue your camp experience throughout August with CAMP EAGLE ODYSSEY – a joint venture between Camp Odyssey and Green Gate Farm in Princess Anne, MD.
Camp Odyssey will bring its zany brand of fun to Green Gate Farm’s Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Experiences (EAGLE) program for three one-week programs. Under the direction of Sue Hahn, Green Gate Farm uses horses and ponies in a variety of ways to help groups and individuals meet challenges and build self-esteem. All activities are non-riding. Programs will include our Camp Odyssey Studios, special activities, and random acts of zaniness in a beautiful pastoral setting that includes horses and ponies.
Register for one week, two or all three. Transportation provided from Camp Odyssey for an additional fee. No lunches available for purchase – campers must bring their own lunch and water bottle each day.

Camp Odyssey at Diamond Dreams
Baseball and softball training, circuit training, and camp fun at Diamond Dreams' excellent facility!
At Diamond Dreams it's all about kids of all ages and supporting their enthusiasm, talent and love for physical fitness & athletics. Our expert trainers evaluate and work with each young athelete to help them develop their strengths and overcome their challenges.
We provide programs that focus on target areas as well as overall conditioning programs that adds strength and endurance. Both indoor and outdoor professional level pitching and batting cages are available along with a complete fitness room that is available for everyone. Our fitness center is complete with cardiovascular and free weight equipment.

Just Added! Creative Writing for the Young and Old
Do you have an Author inside you waiting to get out?
Spend two weeks honing your writing skills and fleshing out that
story you've always wanted to write. Work with former English
teacher, Suzi McKeen of "The Writer's Advantage", to learn how to
develop character, setting and plot and create your own short story. Suzi holds a Master's Degree in Composition and taught at the Salisbury School for ten years.
Section One: grades 7-9
Learn basic elements of fiction, brainstorm your own story. Then write and bind your own illustrated short story book.

Morning Swimming Lessons
Specialized swimming instruction tailored to each child's abilities. Swimming instruction provided by Cora Miles, an experienced and dynamic teacher and her crew of talented assistants. Campers are transported to the Elks Club pool from camp for a half hour morning lesson, then are returned to their groups. Four days per week (Tuesday-Friday *July 4th week Monday-Thursday)

Guitar Workshop
Tuesday mornings. Learn to make your guitar sing your own song. Group sessions led by local guitarist Jimmy Rowbottom.

Musical Theater
Aspiring actors, dancers and singers will take the stage under the direction of veteran theater director Susan Rogers to create a musical theatrical production. They begin warm-ups and rehearsals on Monday and present their performance on Friday.

Little Players
Learn about performing and participate in a fun theatrical production under the fantastic direction of veteran theater director Susan Rogers. Young actors will start out on Monday and take the stage on Friday at The Salisbury School Lower School Theater.

Piano Lessons
Learn the basics while also discovering your own sense of musical style. Lessons will cover note-reading and keyboard geography with campers choosing repertoire of their preference: Classical, Jazz, Oldies Rock & Roll, Folk, Patriotic, Children’s Songs, Disney, Movie/TV Themes, and more! Individual 30-minute lessons led by Susan Boone, a piano Guild member who is certified by the American College of Musicians. Ages four and up are welcome, beginners to advanced. Weekly attendance is encouraged for maximum results.

Keyboard Adventures
Share your musical enthusiasm with other campers as you learn basic skills! 45-minute group sessions will include 25 minutes of note-reading, keyboard geography, chords, and song-playing as well as 20 minutes of individual and group games to reinforce musical concepts.

Cool Kids Creations
Play indoors and out, exploring nature and discovering your artistic talents. Music, art, nature and cooking are all part of the adventure. Different themes each week! Pat McKenzie, certified teacher (Westside Primary Kindergarten), parent and veteran camp counselor, orchestrates the fun.

Outdoor Galore
Join resident science expert and Salisbury School teacher Alvin Kruger for a week of discoveries in the great outdoors. Campers will learn about our natural surroundings as well as work together to preserve its beauty.

Microscopic Discovery
Younger scientists learn dissection techniques and view nature under microscopes, studying insects, oysters, fish, clams, crayfish, owl pellets and many more natural wonders. This program also includes science crafts and experimental designs for the creative minds of younger children. Instructor Michelle Thomas, a middle school teacher at Sussex Academy of Arts & Sciences, will introduce and familiarize students with basic science method in a fun, no-stress atmosphere that nurtures a budding interest in science.

Secret House: Have a Wild Time!
From sailing and kayaking to history and archaeology, painting and pottery, Secret House is a world of imagination and adventure on 260 acres on the Tangier Sound. Artists John Orth (former art teacher at The Salisbury School) and Dana Simson (world renowned artist), owners of Chesapeake East, open their waterfront home for three distinct weeks of exploration and fun. Bus transportation from Camp Odyssey is provided.
Secret House: Expedition Survivor I - Come ready to compete in Survivor style quests and competitions with a zany twist!

Secret House: Artology - Learn techniques for creating masterpieces inspired by the big sky beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. The adventure includes such activities as making and decorating pottery, painting and drawing, and other creative activities.

Secret Beaches of the Eastern Shore
Search for treasures throughout the Delmarva coast! Educator and veteran "secret-beach-ologist" Bea Lowe takes intrepid campers on journeys to some of the Shore's most unique coastal destinations. Find treasures from the sea and transform them into jewelry, art, and more!

Greenbriar State Park Adventure
Travel with veteran leader and teacher Barb Farrell to Greenbriar State Park, located three hours away in Boonsboro, Maryland. Barb and her highly qualified staff will lead campers through a week of awesome hiking, swimming, biking, white-water rafting and day trips to Harper's Ferry and Cunningham Falls. Food, tents and camping gear will be provided.

Math Magic
Harry Potter knows you need to know math to make potions. Young math magicians challenge themselves by applying math skills like probability and geometry in hands-on activities like making potions and working with Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. Chesapeake Discovery Trip
Spend a day on the Chesapeake Bay crabbing with Captain Fred Pomeroy, who has more than 30 years of experience on the water. Campers should bring sunscreen, lunch, plenty to drink and a thirst for adventure.

Musical Story Camp
Campers embark on a unique discovery through music and reading in this week of fun!
1:00-1:30—Story Songs—after welcoming the campers for the day, we will learn and sing 1-2 songs that tell a story. Sometimes we will act them out or learn choreographed movements as well!
1:30-1:50—Sound Stories—we will work as a group to create a story based on sound effects and musical excerpts that we hear.
1:50-2:30—Story Time—we will read a story from a famous ballet, children’s opera, or other well-known classical work while listening to the accompanying music. In some cases we may incorporate dramatic readings from campers.
2:30-3:00—We will complete an art activity and/or play a game related to the songs and stories for the day. In some cases we will divide into smaller groups for age-appropriate activities.

Jessie Brown Girls Basketball Camp
Girls will develop their basic skills and learn to love the game.
