Summer Day Camp Overview : Memories to Last a Lifetime
Join us on an extraordinary journey – 8 weeks of exciting themed days, trips and events designed to captivate kids entering Pre-K to 8th grade. Campers explore programs geared to their specific ages at the only independent American Camp Association Accredited camp in the region (click for more info).
We offer three Day Camp programs based on grade level and ability. The 2008 Summer for all programs lasts from June 16-August 8. Each and every day has a theme that is celebrated camp-wide through a variety of engaging experiences. Be sure to see the complete calendar of our themes and activities! Use the links above to explore all aspects of our Summer Day Camp Experience.
*Please note that all programs list age requirements by grade - this refers to the grade students will be entering in the Fall of 2008. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about age requirements. Please also note that camp is closed on Friday, July 4 and the Day Camp closes for the summer at noon on Friday, August 8.
Setting Sail Overview (Pre-K and K)
This program, integrated into Day Camp, is specially designed for our youngest campers (pre-K and Kindergarten). They join the “big kids” at Opening and get plenty of the studio time (see below) they love – and they also have special, age-appropriate activities, experiences and breaks to suit their needs. A staff of caring counselors and qualified teachers is led by Ronna Bievenour (certified teacher) and Susan Boone (music teacher and veteran camp counselor). For more information, visit the Setting Sail website (use links above).
Cost: $167/week (discounted rate during Weeks 3 and 8 for shortened schedules)
Legendary Day Camp Experience (Grades 1-6)
Our core program for kids who just want to be kids! Groups include “Sunfish” (grades 1-2), “Marlins” (grades 3-4), and “Dolphins” (grades 5-6). Our 5:1 camper to counselor ratio provides excellent supervision with lots of individual attention. Our experienced Group Leader and Specialist counselors - under the guidance of veteran returning Day Camp Directors ”King” Jeff Livingston and “Queen Nerd” Jamey Landon, and Program Director Chris Adkins - plan and implement the zany, imaginative, and fun activities for which we are known. In addition to Opening, Closing, theme events, free play and trips, campers experience five studios a day (on a rotating schedule) including: Art, Outdoor Adventure, Sports, Video, Tech Lab, Dance, and Wacky Science. See below for more details on studios and daily events.

The Odyssey Teen Camp program offers challenges and a change of scenery for campers entering grades 7 & 8. This program operates independently of the traditional Camp Odyssey Day Camp and is based on the opposite side of The Salisbury School campus in the Upper School gym. Teens experience more variety and independence under the outstanding leadership of some of our finest counselors. The Odyssey Teen Camp program is designed to foster responsibility, self-awareness and positive character development in our teens.
Campers take part in some of their favorite activities from previous years as well as lots of new experiences. See the Teen Camp website (use links above) for complete schedule and weekly trip information.

Day Camp Studios
Studios are centers of activity that allow kids to express their creativity, spirit of adventure, brainpower and physical energy. Our broad range of studios are based on the premise that children will grow emotionally, physically and mentally when they are actively engaged in activities that they choose, challenge them, build relationships and are fun. Each day provides the opportunity to visit five different studios, each with multiple choices (for a total of 15 options). These include such varied selections as Art, Outdoor Adventure, Sports, Video, Tech Lab, Dance, and Wacky Science. Visit back soon for a complete list of our 2008 studio offerings!
